The government around here (thats a Swiss way of refering to one's spouse...) looks as if its about to decide that due to certain problems with supply and demand in the local agricultural production of staple foodstuffs (i.e. bread and pizza), the manufacturing methods may need to be restructured. It has realised that if the exhausted workforce is provided with new means of processing said agricultural produce, more foodstuffs could be provided with less overall effort.
So I've been checking out dough kneading machines, and when I mentioned that one of my favourites so far costs over 1000 CHF, he didn't even blink. Much.
The machines seem to have different names over here, I couldn't find any you lot have referred to, but this is the one I'd like:

I think. Or maybe the one that takes up to 9 kg of dough...
What do you think? Any other general advice on dough kneading machines while I'm looking around?

That second link did not work for me, but the first one looks very much like the SP-5 that has been discussed here (and that I own). Mine does not have a tilt up lid or any whisk attachements. It does 8 lbs or sourdough no problem. It is a workhorse, weighs a ton and does not move around. I baked 25 lbs of bread last weekend using it...
