I saw dried currants the other day at the local Fred Meyer store. It is a NW chain. Check your health food section in your local markets.

Currants around here are little red berries that grow wild and can be picked in June/July. It's hard to get more than a cup or two of them at a time. The name may be a regional thing where the name changes for similar type berries that are not actually the same species.
