Kevin, My oven does the same thing. I bake a bread that oozes cheese and makes a mess of my floor for the following batches so I put it on parchment paper. Those loaves on the paper come out the same way. That is actually a great quality to have in a loaf.

That is a very solid recipe glad you like it.

I like the way the parchment loaves turned out. It's very helpful to have the side by side contrast with the other loaves.
