| After about an hour of fire the dome starts to clear, the floor thermocouple which is about 1/2 brick depth indicates about 580F. The TC in the dome at this time is 410F. The dome TC is is about an inch further from the fire than the floor TC. The retained heat in the floor is always higher until the coals are raked and and the floor is mopped, door closed. I usually fire for 2hrs. The dome TC will be 710, the floor TC 850. Several hours later the floor will always be about 50-60F below the dome. Mark |
