Just before we got digging, someone started a forest fire down the road from us. It was a windy day and there were a few tense moments until we figured out where the fire was and which direction it was heading. Luckily in Thunder Bay we have some water bomber airplanes stationed here and by late in the afternoon they had it put out. Those planes can carry about 1300 gallons of water that is loaded by skimming off the the nearest lake which today happened to be the biggest freshwater lake in the world (Lake Superior).
I'm trying to build a wood fired oven, not be in one!
Cheers, Versachi
