Curing Pizza Stone?

Do I need to cure the stone? If so how?
Also is it necessary to heat the stone prior to putting it in the oven? I don't want it to crack.

no, you don't need to cure. but what kind of stone? cordierite shouldn't crack - but the ceramic stones all crack sooner or later.
