Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge Part 2
Dear Wood-Fired Oven Community Members,
The Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge 2011 was a big success. I ran a personal best time of 2:58:34 in Boston, and followed that up with a relaxing 3:19:21 race at Big Sur—and best of all, we have raised thousands of dollars for the Reeve Foundation. When I was in Boston, I met with with members of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, along with other fund raisers and people whom the Reeve Foundation has helped. I am so pleased that Forno Bravo is part of the Christopher Reeve Foundation community.
Otherwise, you can read on.
Forno Bravo, LLC is sponsoring me again to run the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge 2011 -- back-to-back marathon races in Boston and Big Sur; 13 days apart starting April 16, 2011. Two coasts, two great races, and 52.4 miles. Our racing team is a recognized fund raiser for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and we are helping them reach their mission of curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.
Starting today, we will be offering "Team Reeves" versions of the Forno Bravo eBook Series for $10 each, and Forno Bravo will match all contributions. Of course the standard free version of each of our five eBooks will continue to be available. Forno Bravo has raised thousands of dollars for charity over the past few years, and we are excited about this new opportunity.
Want to donate more than $10? You can always order more than one Forno Bravo eBook.
On a personal note, I have been running for about 2 1/2 years, and I have run seven marathons so far. I ran a Boston Qualifying time (you have to run a pretty fast time to be allowed to run the Boston Marathon -- 3:35:59 for my age group) in my second race, and I have a personal best time of 2:59:54.
One last thing. If you would like to make a more substantial contribution to Team Reeves, please contact us at email@example.com. We are having a post race pizza party on May 1, 2011 for the runners, organizers, and major donors at our home in Pebble Beach, and we would love to meet you (and throw you a great Pizza Napoletana).
Thanks for all of your community support over the years, and thanks to everyone who backs these exciting adventures.
