  • 90cm (35-36 inch) Pompeii style oven in Slovenia

    Hello,
    im building a 90 cm (35-36inch) pompei style oven in Slovenia . Blueprints are from fornobravo.

    - base is from reinforcement concrete
    - insulation is termovermit (insulating concrete) 7cm (3inch) (insulating concrete)
    - row of firebrick for shape
    - sand 2 cm(1inch) for laying floor fire brick on it

    now im cuting a floor fire brick to shape

    So here are a pictures of progress.

    Looking good artman. Look forward to following your build. Only question is why the hole in the insulation material at the entry?

      Greenman - because i didnt have enough material. I didnt buy enought material.

        Well Artman - that has to be the best reason. I expect that it will not make much difference anyway. Still watching and once the first row is down the whole process seems to speed up after that.

          Fancy piece of cutting of those firebricks at the front! That will let you get your hearth through in one flat plane.

                  tibort - osrednja Slovenija , kaj boš ti tudi gradil?

                  Uporabljal jo bom za pice, pečenke, kruh,.. kar se bo dalo not pripravit.

                  GarnerAc - (Is it under an overhang or portico?) under the external roof behind the house, summer kitchen.

                    Very clean looking build. Try to keep those vertical brick joints from lining up, stagger them as much as possible.

                        Artman can I ask you what did you put under your floor bricks. I can't find fireclay anywhere so I am thinking of using just quartz sand.

                          gorazdr - lahko uporabiš kremenčev pesek tko delajo tud tapravi pečarji.Sej tko mam jaz, spodaj mam na betonski podlagi ulit Termovermit 7cm za izolacijo (zmešaš z cementom in vodo in uliješ podlago, poglej "http://www.strojansek-sp.si/vermit/slo/termovermit.htm", pol čez pa 1-2 cm peska oz. kremenčev pesek, nato pa šamot. Lahko uporabiš kremenčev pesek tko delajo tud tapravi pečarji.

                            I already poured insulation yesterday. 5" of Termovermit on top of 3" of aac blocks.
                            How long did you cure Termovermit?
                            Did you lay first course directly on vermiculite or do you have layer of sand below?

                            Some info for Slovene:
                            - Termovermit se dobi v Top domu (19.1€) vprašajte direktno za to ker ne vejo kaj je vermikulit.
                            - Šamotna opeka je 2.07€ (top dom)

                            Katero malto uporabljaš? Razmišljam da bi vzel Rofix 961 - do 1300 stopinj po 18.5€

                              Uf, škoda ker nisi malo pobrskal po internetu...calsil board, ki ga pošilja FB kupcem svojih peči najdeš tudi pri nas. Ima boljšo izolativno vrednost in se ne drobi. Pod talne plošče se daje za izravnavo sol...to počnejo pečarji ki sem jih jaz videl pri delu in priznani Neapeljčani kot S. Ferrara na primer... Za vse informacije PM
