I am thinking of trying the gas fired little black egg concept of cutting a hole in the bottom of my weber bottom. Then, instead of cutting a slot in my lid of my weber, I am thinking of using a part of a 55 gallon drum as the lid. If I put a rack in it lined with fire brick above the pizza stone, and cut a top vent, I think I could pull this off. Thoughts on this approach? I have the bottom of the weber sitting in my garage as well as an empty drum. Just cost me for the firebrick and pizza stone. Have the turkey fryer already too.
