    It seems these are the most readily available options for insulation below the cooking floor (besides Vermicrete, which I will not be using):

    FB Board
    SuperIsol
    Insblock (did I get the name right?)

    Are there any other options ? Which one did you use? Are you happy with it? I'd like to call it a day and get the FB board, but the shipping to NY is expensive.

      4 inches vermiculite 5:1 portland cement mix.

      This will be the least expensive and probably the most commonly used option.
