    I'm doing a Scott style oven and I've layed a few courses of brick just over my door arch, basically the vent opening/start of chimney, without remembering to use the fireclay homebrew. I just used type S mortar.

    Should I start-over...ugh


    Continue the chimney using the homebrew from this point?

    Any comments would be soooo greatly appreciated at this point.



    P.S. The brick have been drying for more than a few days.
