    shvuntz,

Frances is our local spiritual leader in the world of Twirly Bits - Mosaic finish on Wood Fired Ovens.

This link will take you to her project -

    http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/9/po...s-2991-18.html

about the end of the mosaic stage. It should be interesting reading for you to go through the full thread, as there is plenty of information on the detail of mosaic..

Good luck with it all and keep us posted on your progress!

      Re: Mosaicing our oven

The oven shouldn't get hot at all on the outside (that's what all the insulation is for) so you can use whatever you'd usually use for an outside mosaic. One rule of thumb is to use products for outdoor swimming pools, they're bound to be weather and water proof.

I put mosaic on my oven (if you want to follow the somewhat lengthy thread below) and there are a couple more on the forum, RTflorida's springs to mind.

As a person who's always ready to look a a new mosiac, and who thinks there can't be too many mosaic-covered WFOs, is there any chance of a picure of your tables or bathrooms?

I cant wait to see what you come up with. I can see Frances is going to have to share the "Over the Top" status of WFO builders. Just have fun with your project. You will so enjoy cooking in your WFO that has your personal touch! Good luck, and keep us posted with your designs.

Looking forward to doing it..we are at the stage now of adding the 6 inch layer of vermiculite...shouldnt i wait till the final firing till i mosaic it or will it be safe to do it after the render, even before we have dried it out?...x
