    There is a book about building clay, or cob ovens. I don't recall the name of the book now, but it should be available at your library.

    Most of the ovens we end up talking about on this form are built with fire brick, although there are some great exceptions to this rule. This oven is a recent addition and demonstrates that other materials will work just fine.
