    I was at a junk yard today and seen they had dozens of these baguette trays, they are $20 each so I couldnt resist one.

    It is pretty filthy but it should clean up ok.

    If anyone is interested the place is in Thomastown Melbourne just near the Dalton Rd exit.

    If anyone from OS is interested in one I could find out the postage, and all at cost price mind..

    Baguettes in France generally seem to be made without a tray which has sides formed as like the ones in your photo. I think they just use a flat tray although we did find some that had been fired in such a tray. I always like to use a tray when cooking bread because it takes the sting out of the floor. I used to sometimes burn the bottom a little when baking directly on the floor.
